Royal Enfield Unveils ‘Dasharoopi’ in Guwahati: A Unique Durga Idol Crafted from Motorcycle Parts

A Creative Fusion of Faith, Engineering, Sustainability and Women’s Empowerment at Guwahati’s Iconic Durga Puja Celebration

Guwahati, October 16, 2026: Durga Puja is more than a religious festival; it is an emotion deeply rooted in childhood memories, family traditions, friendship and community celebrations. From eagerly shopping for new clothes to showing off favourite toys among friends, childhood memories of Durga Puja continue to bring smiles and nostalgia to generations. The excitement of visiting beautifully decorated pandals with family members and friends makes the festival an unforgettable part of India’s cultural heritage.

Celebrated with immense enthusiasm across West Bengal, Assam, Tripura and several other parts of the country, Durga Puja brings together devotion, artistic expression, social interaction and vibrant economic activity. Adding a distinctive dimension to this festive spirit, Royal Enfield has unveiled Dasharoopi, an innovative artistic initiative at the historic Guwahati Sarbajanin Durga Puja pandal in Latasil, Guwahati.

Organised in collaboration with 93.5 Red FM, the five-day celebration, running from October 16 to 20, 2026, offers visitors a unique blend of traditional religious symbolism, contemporary creativity and community engagement.

A Unique Durga Idol Crafted from Motorcycle Parts

The principal attraction of Dasharoopi is a specially created idol of Goddess Durga featuring traditional weapons, including the trident, crafted creatively from Royal Enfield motorcycle components and discarded materials.

Retaining the spiritual significance and recognisable traditional appearance of the goddess, the installation demonstrates how mechanical components that might otherwise be discarded can be transformed into meaningful artistic creations. It brings together the precision of engineering and the imagination of traditional art, presenting an unconventional yet culturally significant interpretation of Durga Puja craftsmanship.

The initiative symbolically connects Goddess Durga’s strength, courage and determination with Royal Enfield’s spirit of resilience, adventure and endurance. Through this artistic collaboration, the installation celebrates the power of creativity to establish a connection between India’s cultural traditions and contemporary industrial design.

It also draws attention to the creative possibilities of reusing discarded materials, encouraging visitors to appreciate how innovation can give new artistic value to existing resources.

Celebrating Women’s Strength and Empowerment

Another major highlight of the inauguration was a special rally featuring women motorcycle riders. The rally celebrated women’s confidence, independence, courage and growing participation in motorcycling.

The initiative draws a meaningful parallel between the strength and determination embodied by Goddess Durga and the aspirations of women who are challenging conventional barriers and exploring new opportunities. By bringing women riders into the heart of a major cultural celebration, Dasharoopi promotes a message of empowerment, self-expression and inclusivity.

The rally also provided an opportunity to recognise women’s growing presence in activities traditionally perceived as male-dominated, reinforcing the importance of confidence, equal participation and freedom of choice.

Bringing Festive Excitement to the Community

Beyond its distinctive artistic installation, Dasharoopi offers opportunities for community participation throughout the five-day celebration. Visitors can take part in lucky draws and competitions for opportunities to win attractive gifts and prizes.

The collaboration between Royal Enfield and Red FM aims to bring devotees, motorcycle enthusiasts, families and the wider community together through an engaging festive experience. Highlights of the Durga idol, the women riders’ rally and other activities will also be shared through Red FM’s social media platforms, extending the celebration beyond the pandal.

Tradition Meets Innovation

The unveiling of Dasharoopi reflects the evolving nature of cultural celebrations, where traditional faith and artistic expression increasingly intersect with contemporary ideas. By transforming motorcycle components into elements of a revered religious icon, the initiative offers a fresh perspective on the relationship between craftsmanship, sustainability and modern creativity.

At the same time, the installation reinforces the enduring significance of Durga Puja as a festival that brings people together across generations. The childhood excitement of new clothes, treasured toys and visits to neighbourhood pandals eventually becomes a cherished collection of memories shared with family and friends.

Such celebrations also generate opportunities for local businesses, artisans, vendors and service providers, demonstrating the festival’s wider social and economic significance.

Visitors can experience this distinctive fusion of devotion, engineering and creativity at the Guwahati Sarbajanin Durga Puja pandal in Latasil until October 20, 2026.

Through Dasharoopi, Royal Enfield and 93.5 Red FM present a compelling celebration of strength, imagination and community spirit—demonstrating how India’s timeless cultural traditions can embrace contemporary innovation while inspiring new conversations about sustainability and women’s empowerment.
