Swiggy’s Instamart platform has expanded to 100 cities in India, meeting the rising demand for quick deliveries, especially in smaller cities. CEO Amitesh Jha noted that 25% of new users in 2025 were from these towns, expressing excitement about offering more convenience and value to a wider customer base with this growth.
Expanding Swiggy Instamart will enhance the dark store network and offers over 30,000 products, from groceries to electronics, reaching millions of new customers. This includes daily essentials, fashion, makeup, toys, and more, all delivered within 10 minutes.
Swiggy Instamart is launching ‘Megapods’ before cricket season to expand its dark store network. These Megapods are sizable at 10,000-12,000 sq ft and can accommodate up to 50,000 SKUs, providing consumers with triple the product range offered in current dark stores.
Swiggy Instamart shared trends from operations in smaller towns. In Thiruvananthapuram, a customer spent ₹69,993 in a single day, the highest recorded. An unnamed customer from Dehradun had the highest total expenditure at ₹3.34 lakh.
Swiggy’s shares rose by 2% after Instamart’s expansion to 100 cities in intraday trade today. Despite being near the 52-week low and much below the peak, analysts view the corrections as a chance to invest due to their optimism about quick commerce’s long-term prospects.
