Kia unveils its smallest electric car yet.

Kia introduced the EV2 concept, a new electric vehicle with production planned for 2026. This model, blending elements of a compact hatchback and a small crossover, showcases a unique design with short overhangs and ample body cladding. Availability is expected in Europe and other regions.

The EV2 concept boasts a unique design, including claw-like headlights, vertical taillights, and innovative rear-hinged doors for easy entry. While it may lose its daring features in the production model, such as the B-pillar omission, the overall style is likely to remain conventional.

The EV2 concept blends minimalism with innovation, featuring a dual-screen setup, a complex dashboard design expected in the production model, and an octagonal steering wheel for improved instrument cluster visibility. Removable triangular speakers serve as portable sound systems. Kia and Hyundai typically include physical controls in their cars.

The EV2 concept comes with innovative features like retractable luggage dividers, a flat floor for optimal space use, and a panoramic glass roof. Rear seats fold up, creating extra space for front seats to slide back. Kia hasn’t disclosed technical details as the model is in the design phase.

The EV2 as a B-segment concept model suggests Kia may introduce a more affordable EV. Speculation of an even smaller EV, possibly named EV1, could be the successor to the Kia Picanto city car.
