Nagaon, Dec 24: On the occasion of 12 Days of Development’ Programme, it was initiated for launching several development initiatives in Nagaon district under the initiative of Assam Cabinet Minister Keshab Mahanta on Saturday an event have been organised at the Dawson Higher Secondary School playground where he distributed ‘debt-free certificates’ to beneficiaries of microfinance loans, financial assistance to flood-affected families, and initial capital to self-help groups under the Prime Minister’s Micro Food Processing Entrepreneurship Scheme.
In his speech it is stated that the State Government’s has taken initiative for highlighting the Government’s efforts to provide assistance to flood-affected families within two months, thereby setting a new record on the occasion of 12 Days of Development Programme with aims to benefit lakhs of families across Assam through various schemes.
In this event, local MLA Rupak Sarma appreciated the State Government’s initiatives, particularly the scheme of debt-free certificates provided those are microfinance loan beneficiaries. Moreover, the Govt. is committed to the people of ASSAM for moving fulfilling the Government’s pre-election promise.
Around 3,992 micro finance beneficiaries secured debt- free certificates, where 177 beneficiaries in the district received initial capital assistance under the Prime Minister’s Micro Food Processing Entrepreneurship Scheme, an official press note stated here.
